Silver candle, English? London?

Post by Vantlicht »

Hi, I need some help with this silver candle. It is marked with several hallmarks, but I do not recognize them. Only the lion looks English? I hope this group is correct to show this item? Is there anyone in this group who can help me? Thanks in advance!

Hi, it could be Hanau style pseudo marks. For example the crown mark, this type of crown is characteristic of J.D. Schleissner and Söhne, but could also have been used by other Hanau silversmiths.

Your image nr.8 shows the Dutch standard mark for used objects and objects submitted in finished condition ZII(?)
