I don't know if anyone can identify this item I picked up today? I wasn't sure if Silver or Silver plate. Very heavy at 395g. Some gold coloured etching around inside of rim. A jeweller colleague thought it may be plate but no matter how deep I scratch it, it turns the silver acid blood red. I tried 9ct acid on it as usually that will pick up a base metal and it will fix green but again even on a deep scratch, no fizzing green or any reaction.
I tried to read the inscription via google translate but to no avail, it says something different every time. No markings except something in a circle, which looks like an H but with the top and bottom blocked in (photo included). The handle seems quite elaborate. Any help, even with translation, greatly appreciated.
