Re: B.H. Joseph & Co. - Birmingham
My sympathies are with Mr. Percy Joseph, who has been detained as prisoner at Frankfort for four weeks past. Mr. Joseph, who is the second son of the late Mr. "Joe" Joseph, and a partner in the firm of B.H. Joseph & Company, of Frederick Street, had gone to Carlsbad for his health, in company with Mr. Ford, father-in-law of Mr. George Joseph, and when on the point of returning home some few days after war was declared both were followed in their car and eventually held up. Mr. Ford, who was in ill-health, was after a time allowed to proceed to the frontier, and after some parleying received a permit and immediately made his way towards England. He left Mr. Joseph in the company of an acquaintance he had met previously in Frankfort, and since then none of the members of the family have had any word of him.
