His shopmates and the officers of the Philadelphia Horological Society, of which he is secretary, tendered a banquet to Chas. Murset, foreman of the watch-repairing department of the Bailey, Banks A Biddle Co., on the evening of the 9th inst., previous to his departure on a trip to places of interest in the Western States and Alaska. His itinerary comprises St. Louis, Yosemite Valley, San Francisco, Sitka, Juneau, returning by way of the city of the Mormons, Pike’s Peak, Cripple Creek, Denver, Omaha, and Chicago. He expects to be absent two months.

Philadelphia
Charles Lopes, aged 65, employed at the Bailey, Banks & Biddle Co.’s factory, met with a serious accident on Saturday last. He was operating the elevator when the rope slipped, and the car dropped to the bottom of the pit. Lopes was severely cut and bruised about the limbs, and was taken to the Jefferson Hospital for treatment.

The Bailey, Banks & Biddle Co. has been awarded the contract for the Bryn-Mawr Horse Show prizes. These will consist of loving cups of special design. Displayed in the window this week was the handsome shield which was designed and made for the Philadelphia Record as a perpetual trophy for cruising power boats, the contest to take place Sept. 22 and 23, 1911.

Clement Weaver, with the Bailey, Bank & Biddle Co., has just returned from a delightful motoring trip to Maine. Accompanied by Mrs. Weaver, he started on the trip three weeks ago, taking the shore route through to New London, Providence and Boston, returning by way of the Berkshires and arriving in this city on Sept. 5. Mr. Weaver declares his trip to have been both novel and enjoyable, there being no accidents to mar it and the weather conditions all that could be desired.

Bailey, Banks & Biddle Succeeded by a Corporation
Philadelphia, Pa., March 3.—The firm of Bailey, Banks & Biddle was dissolved on Feb. 28th, by limitation. The business of the late firm will be wound up by Joseph T. Bailey and Charles W. Bailey, who are authorized to settle and adjust all its business, and who will pay all the liabilities of the firm. Meanwhile Joseph T. Bailey, Charles W. Bailey George W. Banks, Clement Weaver and Harry N. Robinson have applied for the organization of a corporation to conduct the business, and will continue it as heretofore under a corporation organized in accordance with the laws of Pennsylvania, under the name of The Bailey, Banks & Biddle Co.
Samuel Biddle, who for the past 16 years has had charge of the finances of the house, has dissolved his connection with the firm. He was 29 years in the business, having been well known as a partner in the house of Clark & Biddle, Robbins, Biddle & Co., and lastly of Bailey, Banks & Biddle.
