Hairbrush with imperial eagle and AH monogram

Post by igor »

Hi! Please help me identify the marks. I think they are not period correct with the imperial eagle with the AH monogram flanking the swastika wreath. It is possible that this item is fake.

A similar brush was included in the set. Is its manufacturer known? Judging by who it was intended for, it must be someone famous whose marks are also known. Since the marks on the brush have not been identified, the question arises about the originality of the item.

Where do the photos you show come from, what is the source you are showing the images from?

All photos are from the forum of the military antiques website of which I am a member. The author of the photo sees this thing as original. Provenance - the item was sold for scrap.)

The mark in the middle could be mark of Weishaupt, Munich.

It is Carl Weishaupt! Mark with with the two towers of the Frauenkirche in München and the initials C and W, see www.c.weishaupt,com Geschichte (history).

Thank you all very much for identifying the mark and manufacturer - now there is a topic for study. The mark may well correspond to the period of the imperial eagle, although there are also questions about the eagle. I’ll add a few photos - the lighter zone of the eagle, the crooked letters of the monogram and the asymmetrical swastika are incomprehensible.

Of course it is a fake. Buy scrap and add Führer initials. Look at asymmetric Hakenkreuz - every leg of the cross is of different length.
Not even a dangerous fake.
Two stupid obsessions among collectors: Nazi relics and Imperial Russia.

Thank you, in principle this was expected. As I understand it, they added an eagle with a monogram to the original brush? Or is it completely constructor? One could make a request to Karl Weishaupt's company to see if they produced similar things, but there is probably no point in this.
