Help Please, anything you can tell me about this piece.

Post by EnT »

Hello forum,

I recently purchased this small tumbler/cup which was labelled as Norwegian silver though with no other information.

It's around 5 cm wide at the rim, just over 3 cm at the base and 4 cm high. From the main image you should be able to make out some tiny chasing around the rim and above and below the two decorative bands.

I'm assuming the seller believed it Norwegian because one of the marks on the base is a 7 dot stamp. Can you tell me anything more please? A date, maker (NM?) or confirm the nationality? Anything would be enlightening.

Thank you as always,
