I picked up some old forks a while back that I liked. They had the typical light tarnished silver look to them. The only mark on them is "Washburn Jewelry Co." No .925 or plate mark. I've not figured out who that was. I may take them to get tested but I was curious if it was ever common for silverware to be marked as simple as this if it were sterling?
Thanks

Forks marked by Jeweler
Re: Forks marked by Jeweler
There was a Washburn Jewelry Co in Anderson, Indiana from at least the early twentieth century. Very doubtful that it is solid silver. Seems unique and might be of local interest.
