Necklace with a Purple Gem

Post by virusnuevo »

Hello,

I found this piece in the forest.

(admin edit - see Posting Requirements )

First hallmark: Seems it's from Soviet Russia. Purity 875 silver maybe. It has city mark of R (Р), I think it's Riga, just guessing.

Second hallmark: .9 and a flower/trident. Looks like it's made in 1989 (found on internet) don't know what a symbol means.

Third hallmark: Looks like number 32, but number 3 looks more like Russian alphabet letter.

I don't know nothing about it, just guessing.

I think there is letter P in front of the star, indicating Riga (Latvia) assay office.
If so, it was made by Riga Jewelry Factory in either 1979 or 1989; depends on the dot in front of ``9``.
Use 10x magnifying glass and ckeck letter P in front of the star; that will resolve the provenance.
