Hello and I have a Redlich & CO question for the group. An item was made and it contains no pattern number in what we are thinking was the very first one. We are thinking it is a prototype of sorts. The years following, from 1925 to 1975, the same trademarks & other identifiers are present in every single piece. The pattern number in each of the years from 1925-1975 is "8674". Why would there be only one cup without this Redlich pattern or model number?
I know this is more of a silversmith's forum, but this is a 14K gold piece I am discussing.
Hope these links work since I want you to be able to see what I'm talking about:)

Re: Mystery Hallmark
Welcome to the forum. I’d say it’s strictly the company’s choice. Whether the number is there or not is of no consequence to the consumer.
