Bell & Bros Silver Cups San Antonio TX

Post by Cmarshall »

Hello,

I have 5 of these cups, I think they may be silver although they are not specifically marked silver.

I would like to know if they are-

Silver or plate
Any history regarding the cups themselves
(admin edit - see Posting Requirements )

Thanks!

Coin silver seems possible here. The items are “julep cups”, sometimes used for presentation reasons (and maybe horse trade related). You can find the same form with a handle attached, and from Bell Brothers. Can you read the inscriptions?

::::: Are there inscriptions (or monograms) on the cups? That might help with the history of the cups, but I don't see any inscriptions (or monograms)? ::::::

Top row top right cup has something above that dent zone, but you can only spot it at the hosting site where the images are a bit clearer.

::::: Good catch, it does look like an inscription/monogram on that one particular cup. ::::::::
