Here's an image of the new date letter for use by the British assay offices as from the 1st January 2024:
Lower case 'z' contained within a square punch with clipped corners.
Now a non-compulsory mark, the date letter changes annually on 1 January. The font, case, and shield shape all change so each can only indicate one specific year.
