LEMAIRE & de VERNISY (de VERNISSY)
Bruxelles
Established in c.1920 by Georges Lemaire, Théodore Bisschop and Edmond de Vernisy trading as G. Bisschop, Lemaire et Cie. The company's name was restyled in 1923 to Lemaire & de Vernisy.
The business was again restyled in 1959 to Lemaire & Helbo. This change came about following the death of Edmond de Vernisy, and Georges Lemaire then entering into partnership with Fernand Helbo. This event saw the ceasing of silverware production and the firm then producing jewellery, particularly that of wedding rings. They continued in business until 1984.
The firm's original mark was 'B - Flower - L', but was later 'L - Flower - V' and finally changed to 'L - Flower - H'.
