Master in the Making

Since 1578 The Goldsmiths’ Company has recorded the names of young apprentices who enter the trade of goldsmithing. Today The Goldsmiths’ Centre on behalf of The Goldsmiths’ Company continues to place 16 to 21 year olds under the tutelage of a Master so that they learn the skills from a specialist in a real workshop.

In this unique showcase admire the pieces of current apprentices and learn how the craft of jewellery, silversmithing and the allied trades has been handed down through the centuries.
