He was born on 14th April 1799 and christened at St James, Clerkenwell; parents Thomas and Edy.
He married Caroline Hobbs at St Mary, Islington on 25th January 1821. Both were of that parish.
Christening records for 6 of their children have been traced in the St James, Clerkenwell register 1822-31. All entries show Thomas as a jeweller at an address of either Vineyard Street or Wynyard Street.
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1823 as a goldworker from Wynyard Street and is recorded as moved to 20 St John's Square in 1835.
1851 UK Census for 21 Wilderness Row, Clerkenwell as a jobbing jeweller.
1861 UK Census for 78 Devonshire Road, Islington as a working jeweller.
1871 UK Census for 59 Devonshire Road, Islington as a working jeweller.
Wife Caroline died 1873 aged 75 years.

Thomas died 1881 aged 81 years.

Thomas and Henry Gleeson are listed in the 1841 Census at Wilderness Row, Clerkenwell as a jewellers. Thomas appears to be fifteen, but that might be because of a problem with the image or the original script. Henry's age is fourteen. There is also a fifteen year old jeweller's apprentice named Thomas Weston (sp?) with them.
