Bird Mark and WV2 mark

Hello,
I have a 10" sterling bowl that I'm not finding the maker for. Unsure of country so starting here.
The mark appears to be a bird, the word Sterling then WV2
Thanks for looking.

Looks like Meriden.

::::: The design along the edge of the bowl (centerpiece) might correspond to one of Meriden's patterns, would be interesting to see that design ::::::

::::: I thought it was Meriden too but the "M" over the bird head has been omitted here, but I guess that was just because there was very little space to apply the hallmark so they used a hallmark which omitted the letter "M" above the bird's head ::::::

Try searching American trademarks on this site. I've seen the mark enough times, but my recollection is not good.

Thanks for the replies. I had seen the Meriden mark but was not sure because of sharpness of my mark. There appears to be some minor differences. Maybe the quality of the mark, or maybe some other maker?

Ok... I just found an "ask the expert" link and found someone asked about a bowl with similar marks. The expert says the WV2 is the pattern number for Meriden. Here is the pattern
