British sterling mark on dish cross

Hi, I'm someone can help me. I have had a silver dish cross for some time and just recently pulled it out of a drawer. I decided to do some research, but I'm unable to make much headway. I believe the item is British sterling as it has the lion mark. But, I'm unable to put a date on this item or identify the maker "W.P." There is a lion mark on each of the feet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

l think that is William Plummer, a London silversmith who worked between 1763 - 1789

Hi,

William Plummer would be a good fit, he is noted for the fact his work almost entirely constisted of items that had saw-cut piercings applied to them.

I agree William Plummer looks about right. Plummer also was noted for manufacturing pierced work and a dish cross would be one of his items along with plate strainers and toast racks.
