Wilcox Silverplate Co.

Postby tbar68 » Sun Aug 12, 2007 1:52 pm

I have a very ornate Candlestick marked Wilcox Silver Plate Co., Meriden, CT. It has the first mark that is shown on the Silverplate marks page for Wilcox, the one with the 2 crossed hammers in the middle. It also says quadruple plate and has the numbers 2758 and 10 and some undecipherable writing under that. Can anyone advise as to the age of this piece or the pattern?
Thx,
TB

Don't know exactly when Wilcox used that mark.
On American silverplate, the term "quadruple plate" was seldom used after 1912.

Pat.
