silver spoon from Cupar, Scotland?

Hi i have bought a spoon which i think comes from Cupar in scotland c1848, but i dont recognise some of the marks or the maker (a capital A in a shield), and would welcome a second opinion!

Sorry to disappoint you, but this is a silver plate spoon made by Joseph Deakin & Sons in Sheffield.

I believe your silverplate spoon was made by William Deykin & Sons of Birmingham, England. Check here:

There is conflicting information out there about this set of silverplate marks. Check out the unidentified D&S mark under this mark on the page I linked to. I think this is the mark of Joseph Deakin of Sheffield.
Most silverplate marks books just have drawings of the marks. One can easily see how a drawing of one of these set of marks could be confused with the other.

In 1895 William Deykin & Sons became Deykin & Harrison. They continued to used these marks, but changed the S to an H.
