Passant Lion Mark????? Hand Chased Sterling ... ID help plez

Postby scook » Sat Jun 02, 2007 10:43 pm

Good Evening,

Anyone have any idea who the maker could be of this item? American - English? All hand chased and very heavy --- Kinda shabby work on the Lion head legs though........ appear to be a master salt ...

Thanks
Steve

It looks very much like the lion passant that Gorham uses, but I have never seen this mark used alone. Anyone else?

I don't believe it's a Gorham mark.
Except when they produced coin silver pieces the lion faced right.

Could not find that mark by itself in my American books.
Could even be a Canadian mark.

Pat.
