c.1760 salt spoon

Postby Granmaa » Thu May 17, 2007 8:33 am

This is a salt spoon with a shell bowl made around 1760. The maker's mark is stamped twice (duty dodging), but I am undecided whether it is that of Peter Bennett or Paul Bocquet. Any ideas?

Miles

It may possibly be Samuel Kay/Key (Grim 2566).

Another copy of the mark here:

Hi Miles,
I think the Samuel Key mark much more likely,
