Caldwell Sterling and Madam D'Arblay

Postby lotsofstuff » Fri Apr 06, 2007 6:53 pm

I have two pieces of JE Caldwell Sterling with the same crest. I can't seem to find anything about Madame D'Arblay. Can this be dated?

The mark with a "M" above a bird was used by the Meriden Britannia Company. Check here:

J.E. Caldwell was the retailer.

Don't have any ideas about Madame D'Arblay.

Pat.

Here's the scoop on Madame d'Arblay

Seems quite a woman, becoming the namesake of a 20th century holloware pattern would probably have given her a good laugh.
