This silver placecard holder acquired at a DC area estate sale had a hand-written label saying it was "Chinese". The motif is very Chinese, but the workmanship and purpose seem to be very European.
Mark appears to be an "S" superimposed over a "C". No other markings. Actual size is about an inch and a half across.
Any help with the mark or the actual country of origin would be appreciated.
