H & S D. Valentine 1876

I would like a little history behind a spoon. The back of the spoon has the manufacturer's marks H & S with the signature D. Valentine 1876. On the front it is engraved: Lizzie

D. Valentine might have been the retailer.

As a possibility for this retailer, D (Dennis) Valentine, jeweler, is listed in the 1876 Syracuse Directory at 21 South Salina.
