Help with identifying maker :0)

Postby SusanWhite » Sat Mar 17, 2007 4:56 pm

Aloha!

Wish I were in Hawaii ... lol ... and probably everyone else would like a vacation, too! Instead, I am here in sunny southern California whining about being somewhere else.

Okay ... enough about the weather ... we have a cheese scoop with -- surprise! -- a maker's mark I can't identify....

Any information leading to enlightment will bring Blessings galore to you!

Sincerely,
Susan

Another view of the mark

Hi!

It occurred to me that a smaller photo of the mark might work better for identification, so I'm adding one.

All help is gladly welcomed -- thanks!

Sincerely,
Susan

I think I've found the maker on this one on a different site and have cut and pasted their info below. Maybe this is something to be added to the American Makers page?

"The Roger Williams Silver Co. purchased the dies of the Howard Sterling Co. in approximately 1901. In 1903 they merged with the Mauser Mfg. Co. and the Hayes & McFarland Co. to form the Mt. Vernon Silversmiths Co. "

I hope I'm not infringing on anyone's copyright. Here's a copy of the drawing:

Any thoughts on this one?

Thanks!
Susan

Hi Susan,
Thanks for tracking it down and sharing the info. It'll be added soon, do have a good image of it, just short on time.
Regards, Tom
