Sterling spoon M.N. Johnson

Postby Goldgrubber » Sun Mar 04, 2007 1:06 pm

I have a sterling tea spoon I purchased. The name on the back is M.N. Johnson and 925/1000. I can't find any reference to this mark. Any info on this mark and and a date, if possible would be appreciated. Thanks

If the name M N Johnson comes up again and it could if it happens to belong to Marcus N Johnson who was in the jewelry business for it least forty years. Marcus, a watchmaker and jeweler, worked in Dayton, New York in the last quarter of the nineteenth century. He was also a jewelry store owner in Austin, Pennsyvania from at least 1900 through 1920.
