Hi
I have a Sheffield Hallmark for 1912 with the maker 'JB'
Can anyone identify this maker?
Thanks

Hi Anjonx,
I suspect there more than one maker using this combination at this time, it would help if you could provide some more information e.g. what type of article it is stamped on, shape of punch etc.,
regards Trev.

Hi Trev
Thanks for your prompt reply.
The items bearing the hallmark are Butter Knives which have been gold plated.
With reference to the type of punch I am afraid I can't be of much help as I am new to all this. All I can say is the 'B' is exactly like this and the 'j'is somewhat similar to this but no dot on the top.
Hope this helps and thanks once again
Regards
John

This mark is from a 1911 spoon made by James Batt and Co.

I think Miles meant John Batt & Company.
