::::::: I have had a few silver medals with the bee hallmark, my medals were signed with the artist's signature, but this one doesn't seem to have a signature, maybe someone can figure out who designed this image just based on stylistic qualities alone? :::::::::::::
Prou Antique (Antique Prow) , 1842 – 1845.
Pointing Hand (Main Indicatrice) , June 1845- October 1860.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Bee (Abeille) , November 1860 – December 1879. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

The medal was designed by Alexis Joseph Depaulis (1792-1867), and many examples with his signature (Depaulis F.) are known. Examples are found with mint-marks from at least 1832 to 1879; the bee is that of Alfred Renouard de Bussiere, Director of Production at the Paris Mint, 1860-1879. The earliest dated example I have found was from 1838.
Hope this helps.
