Wedding ring mystery - gold mark can unlock family descent

Hello’
In a pouch my father left me after is death is a wedding ring. It’s unclear who it is from, but the current theory is that it was my grandfather’s who was killed during WW2.
The mark could tell its story, as my grandfather was the only person from the Austrian/italian region.
It’s a 333, 8 carat ring, with the marks ‘LV’ and a bee of fly with the letter ‘W’ on top. I took a picture.
It would be great if anyone could determine the maker and or region… thanks!!

Let us honor your grandfather for his heroic deeds during the 2nd World War.
Austria, hallmark used 1938-1946; for larger objects made of gold 333/1000, the letter W stands for the assay office in Vienna.
