Dutch prayer book, maker?

Post by Vantlicht »

Dutch prayer book with a silver lock. However it is marked clear with an R I cannot find a match for this one.
A second pair of eyes would be appreciated. Thanks!

The maker's mark, to me appears to be R(serif) under a smith's hammer (here damaged, head missing, handle seen only) , used by S.T. Reitsma Sr, registered in the cities of Lemmer and Sneek, province Leeuwarden, 1814-after 1857. Steven Tjittes Reitsma was born in 1793 in Lemmer and became a master silversmith in 1814. He died in 1868 in Sneek at the age of 75. Steven Tjittes Reitsma was the son of Tjitte Stevens Reitsma and Trijntje Gurbes de Wind. He married Joanna Hendriks Miedema in 1814, and they had 11 children together.

Peter.
