Unidentified hallmark and number stamp on metal coasters

Post by radmarking »

Hi there. I have some coasters that are stamped with two markings. The first stamp I couldn't find an example of here on the main page, there are some that have similar shapes, but not close in design. And the second stamp is an number enclosed in a square. I've never seen a 95 stamp before. After searching the forum and finding some example pictures, maybe it is pewter/tin? I saw one other poster's photo that had a 95 stamp, but not quite as crisp.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Yes, these are pewter, the '95' being the percentage of tin used in the alloy.

They are Italian, manufactured by Cosi Tabellini.

Thank you, dognose! I see in some other pieces that they have marking with their name. I wonder if they have that mark under the felt back. Either way, thanks for the speedy identification.
