Rolled gold locket, hoping to date by patent

Hello, I’ve searched the forum but haven’t found any similar info, so posting here hoping for some info.
This locket was given to me many years ago by my mum, she was given it by a relative. I think it is gold plated so not valuable, but I am really hoping to date it. It has a patent number on it, which I cannot trace.
There is nothing inside the locket and no other hallmarks on it.
Any dates would be very helpful in determining who this locket might have belonged to in my family. Many thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum

I believe that you can search for patent numbers here: https://ppubs.uspto.gov/pubwebapp/stati ... basic.html. I can't read the number in your picture but no doubt it looks clearer in "real life". I think you will need to put a 0 (zero) in front of the number to make it 7 figures.

Thank you so much for your reply.
The patent number looks to me to be 832/09 or, 832709. Even by adding a zero, this brings up nothing in the search site, unfortunately.

Also, forgot to add, I’m in the UK, so I believe it to be a Uk Item.

So US patents are no good. Apologies for sending you on a wild goose chase. I don't think older British patents can be searched online and I don't know of a correlation between patent number and year of issue.
