Dutch cream spoon 18th century.

Post by Vantlicht »

This dutch cream spoon is marked with a shamrock. It looks like an early one, so before 1770. I cannot find a match for this one, but there are quitte a lot silversmiths who used this symbol. Curious if we can find the right one...

Well a Dutch silver cream ladle with only a master's mark often points to Friesland, for silver below the 1st standard (934/1000). This Frisian silversmith with a maker's mark clover in contour, for me an unknown maker's mark.

Except for the missing stem, it could be.
Jan Schipper may provide a solution.

Peter.
