Reference a single silver scalloped sugar(?) spoon by O W Towson. Some damage. Monogram M E.

Am unable to find much info other than he was a silversmith in Baltimore and Philadelphia between 1791 and 1824.

Any help to identify further would be very much appreciated.

Hi,

Obadiah W. Towson was born in 1791 and was apprenticed to Charles L. Boehme in 1806. He went into business on his own account in 1814 at 62, Green Street, Baltimore. He appears to have removed to Philadelphia around 1818-19.

The Baltimore Assay Office date on your piece indicates the year 1815.
