::::: The spout is really interesting, I've not seen a spout exactly like this before, but the leaf motif I have seen on top of a spout made by Frederick Marquand but also the work of Garrett Eoff I am thinking about, I've looked at NY Coin Silver teapots before because I have a similar teapot by Peter Chitry (plain spout not the dragon-head or duck-head or whatever) ::::::
::::::: I thought the Eoff work sometimes has a human-head hallmark and a letter, but it's hard to read those 2 hallmarks that flank the NY so probably best to wait and see if an expert on mid-century coin silver can offer more assistance here. ::::::
Morgan Morgans after the dissolution of Montgomery & Co (Samuel Montegomery and Morgan Morgans) in 1876. The original mark was Beehive/M&M in a diamond/arm & hammer. The center diamond was removed and the space left blank or, as here, filled with N•Y.
Quick update on the maker, someone messaged me on eBay with the following info :
I believe the maker is Charter Canns & Dunn. Bottom marks on either side of the NY looks like a derivative of one the their known marks. An almost exact mate to this sold at New Orleans Auction Gallery, lot 0877, March 24, 2019.
Not sure if they are correct but thought I would share. The pot they are referring to is almost identical but the auction company did not show a mark in their listing.
