Third Reich Silverware Question - Gustav Haegermann Maker’s Mark

Good evening!

I have been trying to verify a set of Third Reich silverware I have the possibility of purchasing from a local dealer, but I am having a devil of a time identifying it as to whether or not it might be authentic or a forgery.

Does anyone know if Gustav Haegermann made silverware for any of the various entities in the Third Reich?

The set in question bears his maker’s mark on them, and given the more prominent position of Wellner as silversmith to Hitler and other officials, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me that if it was a forgery someone would have picked a lesser known silver smith to use their wares.

Any information anyone can provide would be extremely helpful.

I will add a photo of the makers mark on the back of one of the pieces when I am at my laptop as I discovered this website on my iPad

Hi David, welcome to the forum. I have moved you to the General question section for the time being. As you know images are required of the item and all the marks.

Peter.
