identifying a maker's mark on a sugar spoon

Postby jstorti » Fri Feb 02, 2007 2:22 pm

I am a student of sterling serving pieces, but I am stumped on this sugar spoon. The only markings are an "s" in a triangle, another "s" in an inverted shield, and a "p" in a square. I would appreciate any input.

Sounds similar to a set of marks used by Sears Roebuck & Company, Chicago, Illinois. These marks were used on their silverplated flatware made by various silver manufacturers.

This is not the answer I was hoping for but I should have known. You nailed it exactly. Thanks, Pat. I hope I can help you some time.
