DEVOTIONAL JEWELLERY

Until 16th February 2023

The exhibition entitled Devotional Jewellery, Pensieri Preziosi 17° Edition, will be held until 16th February 2023 at the Oratorio of San Rocco Padova - Italy

The theme proposed for the competition was not intended as "religious devotion", but as a broad vision of the concept and meaning of "Loss" intended as a sudden, total and permanent loss of a beloved person, as shown for example, in the jewels of the so-called Mourning Jewelry production of the Victorian era, or of a loss that involves the vital system of our planet.

The project proposed by the AGC member Elena Alfonsi, has sparked great interest, shown through the international participation of artists from Europe, Japan, United States, Korea, South Africa and China. The selection of authors was curated by Dr. Mirella Cisotto Nalon, former Head of the Cultural Activities Sector of the Municipality of Padua, by Dr. Elena Alfonsi scholar of History of Art Criticism, and Cultural Tanatologist.

The event has been made possible thanks to the Municipality of Padua - Department of Culture.
