What time period?

Post by scttmccly512 »

Hi again, this is my second post, but I'm trying to determine the maker, hallmarks, and maybe the engraving on the handles (mainly what font/letters are represented) if there are any leads? Thank you all again!

Maker and seller was Gebrüder Sauerland, Berlin. The baroque pattern was produced for a long time, even up to nowadays.

Hello, the company changed its name in 1928, so this can be dated before that. Any dating between 1888 and 1928 is possible. Regards, Bahner

Hello, the name chaged to Carl Sauerland and Co. in 1928 and again later in 1928 to Sauerland and Kittel. Regards, Bahner

I found a couple of references to Sauerland & Kittel:

Thank you to all for the responses. Bahner, would you say the font on the handle is a victorian style?
