H&G Coin Silver Spoon With Pseudo English Hallmarks

Post by FoundInNC »

I am seeking info for this spoon. It is marked H&G and I suspect it to be coin silver due to the style. Is anyone familiar with it? Thank you!

Forgive me if I did not load the images correctly, us the links if you can't see them.

The jewelry firm of (Bezaleel) HOWE & (John) GUION, NYC 1841-1842. The additional marks are an as yet unidentified NYC wholesale manufacturer. H&G were retailers, not makers. They were also bothers-in-law.

I was unable to find images of the makers marks to confirm this, do you have a link to an example? I appreciate your research and reply!
