Birmingham makers mark 1906

Post by Mjl »

I believe that the anchor indicates Birmingham, and the lower case g is 1906? Can anyone help with the maker’s mark H.W. On this small salt server. Thanks!

None of my references show an H·W mark. However coverage of Birmingham sponsors' marks is very sparse so this is not necessarily unexpected. However I wonder if it may be that what we see is an incomplete mark. For example, for this period, we also have the known marks of H W Ashford (H·W·A) and of Henry Williamson Ltd (H·W·LD).
