Need help identifying marks on ring - British?

Post by Kasemi »

Hello :-) I need help identifying these marks on this ring. It says 9CT but I don't know about the rest. Cannot tell if they are British or from somewhere else. I would appreciate any info on this! Thank you!

Hi,

It appears to be South African and the date letter indicating 1964.

Hopefully someone may recognise the maker's mark.

Please ensure your images remain in place this time.

Thank you so much :-) That helps a lot! Now I can research a little better.
IS there a way to upload images or is it purely links? I believe they get deleted after a while. What can I use to make them stay? Thank you

The maker's mark indicates Oblo Jewellers of Cape Town, in business from 1952. This is likely the mark of Michael (?) Obloer, one of the owners of the business.

https://postimages.org (choose 'Share', then copy the 'Hotlink for forums' code) is recommended. Do not use Photobucket or Dropbox.
