Help identifying this mark... Glasgow??

Postby nikka0202 » Fri Apr 22, 2022 12:03 pm

Hi

I have searched the guide and forum. I believe that this may be a Glasgow hallmark, due to the lion, however I am not sure and there is not alot on Glasgow makers.
I appreciate any assistance identifying the mark.

Kind Regards,
Victoria

That's definitely not Glasgow, despite the lion rampant.

Hi
The post was moved to the German section, with good reason. I think this could be a Berlin Mark. I think we had the maker "B" already in this forum, but could not find it. Theo will for sure follow up. In the meantime, can you clean the marks and post again. If there is a letter behind the lion we know more.
Regards
Jörg

Hello,
Thank you for your assistance! I hope that Theo can help. There are no other marks found on the piece, should I still take additional photos?
Best,
Victoria

Hello, B would be the mark of the second warden Deppe 1842-1847, V. might be maker Vollgold. Regards, Bahner

If the B stands for Deppe (1842-1847), there must be a K (for J.C.S. Kessner 1819-1854) behind the Berlin bear.
