Unknown Mark HBEP With a Lion a Bell & Wheat

Postby Brokenroad » Mon Dec 18, 2006 1:30 am

I have searched thru this forum, with no luck. Any information or books I could buy for my search would be great.
This Photo is the Lion walking left, next is a bell w/lines in a oval, than wheat?

On the opposite side of the lion are the numbers 8176.

I believe that's one of the many marks used by the Barbour Silver Company. Founded in 1892. Merged with other companies in 1898 to form the International Silver Company. International continued to use some of the old companies marks into the 1920's. Not sure if they used this one.
The mark on the right is a fleur-de-lys.
