French silverplate forks / Help ID the era

Postby NewYorkNewYork » Thu Dec 14, 2006 5:55 am

I am helping a friend ID the era these forks are from. These are french silverplate. Complete set in a box. I think they are from the early 20th century. Maybe the late 19th century. Metal Blanc in a box. Leclerc in a box. 18 in a box. Crescent moon with a star to the upper right in a box. Thanks for any help. New York New York

Hello, there was a maker A. Leclerc whose mark included a star and a halfmoon. I have no further info on him. The 18 is for the amount of silver used in electroplating. The style is Art Dèco, around 1930. Best wishes, Bahner
