Please help ID this mark. I have looked as much as I can on the net, but still am a little bit stumped.

This is a large platter. Quite heavy.

It kinda looks like a snake on the anchor, which is unusual. And that letter at the end is strange, I think it is a G????

The maker was F. & M. Weintraub of New York.

Gorham won a restraining order against F. & M. Weintraub in 1909 preventing them using marks that were considered too similar to those used by Gorham:


Gorham Mfg. Company - Providence, R.I. - 1910



Thus, your tray can be dated to around the 1908-9 period.

Interesting...there has been at least one prior query involving only a "G"...perhaps another variation on this duplicitous connivance?

I have just noticed this post,interesting for me that this G mark is also close (not the same) as the Belgium import mark gothic G.
Not sure what others think?
