?Relish bowled Twist spoon Figural piper "N 10"

Postby Traintime » Mon Sep 06, 2021 11:41 am

Okay, this one is a long shot*, but he sort of resembles an interpretation of the pied piper of Hamelin and 10 Lot/Loth was used in Germany. Could this "N 10" (an approximation of what it might read if clear) be more than number ten of a series in base metal? And is that an odd shaped key-like mark that crimps the bowl/handle junction, or just a fluke? [*I can't believe the spellcheck tried to insert the word sh*t in place of shot. Even the machines are becoming foul mouthed!]

Hi Traintime,

I think this is likely Dutch.

See: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=56948&p=184837

Especially Peter's information regarding Jacob Pieter Niekerk/Firma J.P. Niekerk.

Thanks, Trev. Rough time frame 1901-1943 for N10. Squared butt sword appears closet to mark sample D (perhaps a bit tweaked at the blade end), so that tentatively reduces the production era to 1901-1905. Looks like I won't have to use this as a garden tool after all.

Hi,
Sorbet or longdrink spoon, finial flute player. Indeed Fa. J.P. Niekerk, this particular mark registered in Schoonhoven 1901/1943.
Best,

Peter.
