Date mark on large plated tray

Good evening
I got this plated tray a while back as I loved the monogram on it. I am not certain about the maker. What do puzzle me is that it seems to have a dat letter (n) on it aswell.
Any help with age and maker of the dray will be welcome.

Still no information on the 'n' mark on this silver plated tray? It really does look like a date letter of some kind.

That form of the date letter for Sheffield silver is 1930/31. It is possible that W&D followed the assay office's date letters on their electroplate.

If the site is correct, they were not around by then anymore. I really love the pattern( and the lovely monogram) and wonder if one can find the pattern name somewhere?

I know that Walker & Hall used date letters on their silver plate. Wonder if there are records of W&D doing it? Will need to find some more examples of their work.

If it was brought in for servicing, perhaps a re-plater's date code? It does sit a bit off kilter from the maker's mark.
