There is mention on a previous thread regarding Lebanon in which a member noted having once seen a piece from those smiths marked Liban 80. This fork only has a number mark. What is clear is the presence of verdigris which might suggest copper in the alloy mix. Might it be .800 grade rather than a silverplate standard? And do we have candidates beyond Lebanon? TIA

Excellent lead...found the like spoon & fork set (sold Etsy) with description of "80" mark on back. (Captured frontal image while still available.) Definitely Lebanon, so I guess this answers the old thread's questions of what was being used as a mid-century mark in that region besides the Arabic style. Of course, it's still "conjecture" about an actual .800 fineness shy of formal testing. But it's a start. Thanks again.
