Need to identify 'HAMO' makers mark?

Postby LisaH » Thu Nov 30, 2006 9:07 am

Hello,

I am looking for the name of the company, and date of origin, of a flute or trumpet vase with the following markings.

HAMO
EPNS (I known what this means)
MADE IN ENGLAND

HARD SOLDERED

All of these are centred on the bottom of the vase. The vase itself is 20cm tall, and the top rim is scalloped and is 9cm in diameter. Unfortunately I do not have a photo.

Any help at all as to what HAMO is, who may have made it, and when, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

LisaH

Not much to offer other than the date of your piece is probably after 1923. From 1893 to 1923, all imports to the US were required to be identified by country of origin - for example, ENGLAND - and fully marked from 1923 on - MADE IN ENGLAND.

No help for the rest of your question. Sorry.

I realize this post is quite old, 2006 but I seem to have the exact same vase, does anyone have any further info on a maker etc? I purchased mine at a flea market. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

A photo of the marks will go a long way to identifing the maker.
