Candle stick Sterling silver overlay

Hi, can anyone recognise the maker on this candlestick? It looks 1930's? or older with the font on the base.
Letter M in lozenge and a raised crown mark.

Is it just me, or is a start of another mark visible on the right-hand side of the base?



Just wondered, as it looks like an 'M', if it was the start of 'Made in........' Or has it been erased?
